Use of Historic Jayhawks and Outdated Marks
Historic Jayhawks may not be used unless there is a compelling reason to do so. Historic Jayhawks may be considered only for internal or alumni audiences that will undoubtedly recognize the outdated icon as a predecessor to the current Jayhawk. Historic Jayhawks cannot be used as a logo for a department or unit. The JayDoc image is for limited use only by the KU Medical Center Alumni Association. All other uses are prohibited.
Historic Jayhawks must include the year in which they were created. The date should be below the Jayhawk, centered and in a sans serif font such as Gill Sans or Gotham. It should be close to the Jayhawk — but secondary — and should be smaller or lighter in color. The date may fall outside the minimum size standard.
Clear space & minimum size
Clear space is defined as the specified area of empty space surrounding official KU marks. Clear-space requirements must be observed in all circumstances.
The clear space should be 1/6 the height of the Jayhawk (x).
The height of historic Jayhawks should not be less than 1/2 inch in print or 55 pixels in interactive uses.
